Code of Conduct

In hosting its annual conference, Crime Stoppers International values every participants’ attendance and wishes to provide a harassment-free experience.  We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form, including the use of inappropriate sexual language and imagery.

CSI expects all delegates and accompanying persons, exhibitors and sponsors, venue and event staff to respect this policy at all conference sessions and social events.

Anyone asked to stop harassing behaviour is expected to comply immediately.

Harassment – includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of presentations or speakers, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention.

Exhibitors & Sponsors – should not use sexualized images, activities or other material to create a sexualized environment. This includes displays, merchandise and clothing or uniforms worn by booth staff or volunteers.

Reporting – If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed or have any other concerns, please bring the matter to the attention of a CSI Board Member or conference support staff member immediately.

Enforcement – CSI reserves the right to sanction anyone engaging in harassing behaviour, such as warning the offender but may extend to the individual being expelled from the conference or social event without a refund.

CSI Board Members or conference support staff will be happy to help participants, provide escorts or otherwise assist anyone experiencing harassment to ensure they feel safe for the duration of the event.
